There is no best season for the Annapurna Circuit Trek as this trek is wonderful with remarkable views in all seasons: winter, summer, spring, and autumn. However, if your main objective is to witness the massive mountain views from different vantage points, then traveling in the spring and autumn seasons is best.
The dry weather, pleasant long sunny days, clear vision, minimal humidity, and clouds are the favorable conditions in these seasons. Occurrence of snowfall or rainfall is probably absent ensuring unobstructed views of beautiful mountains and landscapes.
In addition, the warm temperature ranging between 7 to 24 degrees Celsius creates an agreeable atmosphere for long day hikes. The forests are painted with red and pink flowers. The melody created by the chirping of different birds and the remarkable sights of incredible animals will entertain you all along the trail.
In winter months from December to February, the temperature can drop to -20 degrees Celsius. The high-altitude areas of Thorong la Pass, High Camp, and Jomsom are often enveloped in thick layers f of snow. In the monsoon months of June, July, and August, the mountains often hide behind dense clouds.
The day often begins with heavy rainfall that can cause landslides, and slippery trails, particularly in Dharapani and Chame. However, the Manang and Jomsom regions being in rain shadow are particularly dry even on Monsoon days.
Our company will organize this trek in all seasons with better preparation, equipment, and a well-planned itinerary. Please contact us for your adventure in the Annapurna circuit trek and any other queries.

Greetings! Welcome to Kathmandu. Our representative will receive you and take you to our hotel. Based on the time of your arrival, you will have remaining time to go for an interesting short trip to the colorful streets of the city.
Kathmandu is an interesting starting point for you to understand the extraordinary nature of what awaits you. In the evening, our guide will meet you at the hotel and give you a brief orientation of our itinerary. He will then take you to a typical charming Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu to welcome you with a delightful dinner.
We will officially begin our 14-day Annapurna circuit trek with a drive to Chyamje via Besisahar. There are multiple options available to reach Chyamje but we will hit the road on a public bus which is a cheaper option. We also offer a private jeep drive from Kathmandu to Chyamje at an additional cost.
The bus drive along the Prithvi Highway is an excellent option to experience rural Nepal and enjoy the landscape immersed in tropical greenery.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at Besisahar where we will have lunch and grab some snacks for the remaining journey. From Beisahar, we will again drive on a serpentine road which will take us to the village of Chyamje where we will conclude our day and rest for the night.
Today is the first real day of trekking with a climb that covers more than 400 meters of elevation. from Chyamje, we will walk on the path that runs along the river. Then we will move forward on the trail that enters the gorge of Upper Marshyangdi that leads into the full Buddhist countryside.
After about 2 to 3 hours of walking, we will be at the village of Tal which is also one of the favorable spots for trekkers to rest overnight. But we will stop here only for lunch. Enjoy the scenery of this beautiful village surrounded by greenery.
After lunch, we will continuously walk for two hours through the shady path created by the dense rhododendron and bamboo forest. Dharapani is in front of us with numerous houses decorated with wooden roofs.
The village itself is charming with the colorful prayer flags dancing to the cool breeze. We are now in the Manaslu region, enjoy your night at Dharapani with the magical view of Manaslu.
Today will be a quite tough trek as our path to Chame will lead us through some rocky paths, ascending through deep jungles, and crossing a few suspension bridges. But the magical landscape views along with the Himalayas giants smiling at you from a distance make the hike pretty amazing.
We will continue along the gorge of the Marshyangdi River till we reach the Bagarchhap village. Another Buddhist settlement adorned with Mani walls and red and yellow prayer flags. The trail ahead will run through the dense jungles of bamboo and rhododendrons, banana palms, and tangerine trees. You can also encounter some beautiful waterfalls along the way.
We will be at Timang village after a few hours from where we can now witness Manaslu, Annapurna II, and Lamjung Himal. We will now reach the village of Chame after crossing another marvelous settlement of Thanchok.
At Chame, you begin to breathe the real Himalayan air. If we can spare some time, we can also go for a brief swim in the hot spring of the village. We will spend the night in one of the beautiful lodge of Chame overlooking the alluring mountain peaks.
Now we will be really reaching to higher altitude as we make our way to Upper Pisang today. The mountain views will get better and better, the landscape transform into more alpine in nature. The forest village we arrive is at Bhratang known as the Heaven for Apple. Here we will take a short break and enjoy some apple pie and apple juice.
We will move along the steep narrow path that will lead us to our next village of Dhikur Phokari. It is a pure lodge settlement known for the unusual rocky ridge known as Paungda Danda Rock Face at 1500 m. The Annapurna II, Chulu, and Pisang peaks will accompany us from here on.
Now the valley opens up into two trails: the lower trail will take you to Lower Pisang and the upper one will take you to Upper Pisang. We will take an upper trail that traverses via a gentle hilly landscape with some almost silted-up lakes.
After a couple of hours, we will arrive at Upper Pisang a very beautiful traditional-style village with a Buddhist monastery.
Another scenic journey awaits us today. We will have two options to go to Manang: the easy and short route that passes through a tiny airport at Humde and the long route that ascends to the village of Ghyaru passing a turquoise lake. We will take the long route as it provides the best scene for the entire circuit trek.
The route on this side is long and initially steep as we arrive at the village of Ngawal. Then we will pass steep stairs to our right that lead to Lophelling Monastery. We will now continue hiking to Braga and explore its old monastery.
After about 30 minutes, we are at Manang with the outstanding spectacle of Mount Annapurna II, IV, and Mount Tarke–Kang. We will stay in one of the colorful and warm lodges of the region and spend the night under the protection of these snowy giants.
Spending a day of rest in Manang is a perfect opportunity to acclimatize at a high altitude. The village has a small clinic and a bank with ATM. You can also taste some cakes, pastries, and apple pies in the German Bakery. You can also shop for some trekking equipment or clothes and other small items.
You can also walk for a few minutes and explore the Gangapurna Lake which remain frozen for almost a year. We will return to our lodge in the evening to rest overnight.
Today is a relatively short walk so we will take our pace gradually. Leaving Manang, we will walk for a short distance on the road that will lead us to Gunsang. From here, we will continue walking a little further along a gravel road which gets narrower and narrower as we keep on progressing along the trail.
However, you will not be disappointed as you stop to enjoy the surroundings with the beautiful Himalayas all around. Notice, how the landscape becomes more and more barren. Suddenly the Yak Kharka will be on the horizon with small lodges and Yaks grazing all along.
We will spend the night in one of these cozy little lodges of the Kharka. In the evening, we can try some homemade yak cheese.
After breakfast at Yak Kahrka, we will resume our journey towards Thorong Phedi. From now on, we will be continuously walking along the course of Thorong Khola which is a tributary of the large Marshyangdi rover.
The slope after Yak Kharka now turns into a trail with more barren lands and icy winds. We will then cross a final suspension bridge and reach Churi Ledar. Here, you can still find a hot bucket of water.
After stopping for a while, we will resume our trek through the increasingly barren tundra-like alpine landscape in which only lichens and a few grasses can survive. Eventually, we will arrive at a junction and take the path on the left side.
We will cross the bridge from where Thorong Phedi is not too far. You can rest overnight at Thorong Pedi but we will walk for a couple of hours to High Camp. The path we take is quite steep and hard but it will lead us to High Camp necessary for the trek tomorrow.
The big day today involves crossing the great Thorong La Pass. If you have stopped at Thorong Phedi, you have to start your day pretty early probably before dawn. But from High Camp, trekking at 4 or 5 am is sufficient to witness the sunrise from the Pass.
The trail from the High Camp is not long and not that steep. We will ascend steadily for 2 to 3 hours. You can see there are poles in the ground marking the trail. So you will not get lost even if you are behind the group.
Finally, we have conquered the Pass. There is a large pile of stones and many prayer flags at the top and even a tea house. Glorify in the remarkable views of the Annapurna Mountains to the south and Mount Mukut–Himal on Dolpo to the west.
Some time at the Pass and its time to return to the Camp to have hot breakfast. Then a long descent to Muktinath awaits us but there will certainly be no lack of mountain views. Along the long downhill trek, we can have a glimpse of Dhaulagiri, meadows, rivers, and many new rich green landscapes.
We will rest for the night in the comfortable lodge of Muktinath keeping the few hours of the next day for the Muktinath temple excursion.
Early morning, we will make a tour of Muktinath temple to pay our homage to the Hindu and Buddhist god of the shrine. The temple has 108 natural taps for taking a quick bath in cold water. A little farther away you can see a natural flame burning all year round.
We will now descend to Jomsom, our resting destination for today. A two-hour of hiking will take us to Ranipauwa. The villages below Ranipauwa are still very traditional away from the crowd of Muktinath.
We will keep on descending traversing the villages of Jharkot, Jhongg, and Kagbeni. Here we will have some rest for lunch, then we will resume our downhill hike along the path of the Kaligandaki River.
Finally, we are at Jomsom influenced by Tibetan culture and tradition. The landscape also resembles the Tibetan plateau. You can find banks with ATMS here and some larger shops and comfortable lodges. We can have some wonderful scenery of Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri.
We will depart early morning to take a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Notice from the small plane windows how the landscape transforms from the arid dry zone to tropical green vegetation and forest.
As we arrive at Pokhara, we will transfer you to our hotel where you can have the long-awaited hot shower. Enjoy well-deserved rest after long days of trek or relax with some therapeutic massage. Take a boat trip on Lake Phewa, or walk along the Lakeside for some shopping and dining.
After breakfast in the tranquil atmosphere of Pokhara, we will drive to Kathmandu on a deluxe tourist bus. You will travel on a comfortable road enjoying rural Nepal. As you progress along the road, the rural setting gradually turns into more modern chaotic city life.
After about 6 to 7 hours, we will arrive in Kathmandu, we will drive you to our hotel where you can sit, relax, and dine in a luxurious setting.
Farewell Nepal! We hope to see you again as you plan for the next adventurous trip to Nepal. You can relax for some hours with a delicious breakfast in the hotel. As the time of your departure approaches, our driver will pick you up and take you to the International airport.
