The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is probably the best short trek in Nepal. It includes eight days of wonderful trekking in the Annapurna Sanctuary. The highlight of the Poon Hill trek is the beautiful sunrise and mountain view from the top of Poon Hill. Poon Hill is located on a short hike from Ghorepani.
The Annapurna circuit trek and Annapurna Base camp trek is yet another most visited destination you will visit in the Annapurna region.
The Gurungs are the main settlers of the Annapurna region. We will be staying with them for most of our trek. We will get a glimpse of their culture and tradition while spending a night at their homestays. The Gurung people are renowned for their hospitality.
You will wake up with the chirping birds in the morning. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek path is covered by dense rhododendron, pine, and oak forests. Waterfalls and streams flow in numbers in the subtropical valleys of the Annapurna. You will experience life as experienced by an ancient saint.
Ghandruk village is another highlight of this Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. It is a beautiful Gurung village that is famous for its panoramic mountain view. Ghandruk is also a popular one-night hiking destination because of its proximity to Nayapul, the place where our trek starts.
