Overview of Helambu Trek – 9 days

Helambu Trek or the Hyolmo (alternatively Yolmo) Heritage trek takes us to the home of the Hyolmo people in the Helambu Valley. Helambu Valley lies in the northern part of Kathmandu. It is adjacent to the Langtang National Park. The Hyolmos are also known as Helambu Valley Sherpas.

They are quite different in tradition and culture from the more numerous Khumbu and Rolwaling valley Sherpas. Buddhism is the predominant religion in the region. It is believed that many past Buddhist masters like Milarepa and Guru Rinpoche practiced meditation in the Helambu valley.

There are many monasteries, ancient sites, and meditating caves that record these happenings. The culture and way of life of the people in the region are also represented in the special Thangka paintings of the Hyolmos. We will be staying with the Hyolmo people for the most part of our Helambu trek. Their hospitality is wonderful.

The path that leads to the Helambu valley trek passes through Shivapuri National Park. The forests are mostly populated by pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. Hundreds of varieties of birds and animals, including some endangered species, are found in the forests.

The most beautiful part of the trek is the wonderful view of the mountains. Throughout your journey, you will be able to view the beautiful snow-clad mountains like the Lakpa Dorje, Ganesh, Langtang Lirung, Gauri Shankar, etc. from a close range.

Helambu trek is a short and simple hike that connects Langtang Gosaikunda. The Langtang Gosaikunda circuit excursion from Tharepati, the Panch Pokhari camping trek trail from Sermathang, and the Ganjala pass route from Tarke Gyang are among the trekking trails that split the Helambu trek.

A trip across the surrounding scenery communities and mountain slopes are extremely inspiring. Because of its amazing natural beauty, the Helambu Trek is far more famous than any other.

Along the Helambu trek, Helambu valley is the best part to see and explore the view and desire best to take in the beauty and healthy traditions and culture of the valley.

The Helambu trek can be shortened and lengthened as per the client’s desire and the affordable physical fitness and the cost too. Due to the lower elevation, it offers a less climbing route and moderate temperature.

Here the locals are the best part that you can have for the lodging and eating. This is also one of the nearest treks from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.

Note to be included:

Although we are traveling for fun and refreshment always be careful and be fully prepared before you start any journey for trekking. Backpack material and related medicine are highly preferred if you are a regular consumer. Don’t drink any raw and unknown foods along the route of the adventure.
