Overview of Langtang Gosaikunda Trek – 17 days

The Langtang Gosaikunda trek in Nepal is a dream journey for people who desire to experience the mid-hills and high-altitude lakes of Nepal. Langtang and Gosaikunda trek combines Langtang Valley trek and Gosaikunda Lake trek. We will first enjoy trekking in the Langtang Valley. After that, we will go past the Lauribinayak hilltop and head to Gosaikunda Lake.

Gosaikunda lake is believed to have originated when Lord Shiva – bearing severe throat burnt after consuming celestial poison – carved open the ground by striking it with his Trident. Many devotees visit the lake during Janai Purnima, which falls around August.

The highlight of the first part of the Langtang Gosaikunda trek is the travel to Tserko Ri and Kyanjin Gompa. The Langtang Valley part of the trek starts from Syabrubesi. We will trek to the Lama hotel from Syabrubesi. Lama Hotel is a small tea-house. The paths of three major trek routes diverge from here – the Langtang Valley Trek, Tamang Heritage Trek, and Gosaikunda circuit trek.

We will travel back to Lama Hotel after conquering Tserko Ri (5050 m) and visiting Kyanjin Gompa. We will then head to Shin Gompa. The monastery is followed by the Lauribinyak hilltop, beyond which lies the holy Gosaikunda Lake.

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek can be the best trekking trail for everyone. Either you are a beginner or a regular trekker. The beauty of the trail is the most undisturbed and pleasant, which makes the journey to the destination much more fun. There are many teahouses and Lodging stand on the trail of Langtang Gosaikunda Trek so, there is no problem with the accommodation.

We will take a holy dip at the lake and enjoy a beautiful night’s stay in Gosaikunda. From Gosaikunda, we will take an alternate route and come towards Chisapani Cross Through Lauribina La Pass (4682m/15358). Chisapani lies at the outer rim of the Kathmandu valley. Chisapani is a mountain watching spot that also provides an amazing starry view of the night sky. We descend down to Sundarijal from Chisapani and then to Kathmandu.
